December Updates

Hello Cadet Families,
A few reminders & upcoming activities...
FAM Flying Abbotsford Airport Dec. 15th - Sign up to take place this Thursday evening.

Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign Sat. Dec. 8th - Sign up took place last Thursday. If your cadet signed up for this event please drop them off and pick them up at the time & site they signed up for. Since our cadets will be the first volunteers of the day, the senior cadet in charge will be responsible to retrieve the kettle and stand from the customer service desk at their site. Another shift of volunteers will take over when their shift is done. Please know the kettle Coordinator (Amy Mcnutt) will be monitoring the sites periodically. A contact number for Amy will be handed out to the senior cadets at each site. A thank you goes out to all the cadets that signed up and to their parents/guardians for driving them. Should your cadet be unsure of the time and/or location they signed up for please feel free to email the SSC and we will get you that info.

Christmas Potluck Thurs. Dec. 13th - If you have not already done so ... please email the food dish (or category; appetizer, main course, dessert) you plan to bring. The SSC would like to make sure there is lots of food to go around and will supplement if need be. Please plan to stay for the evening and enjoy the activities. Don't forget a food bank item!

Need help picking a camp? Can't find the list of camps that was handed out? This link may help:
Don't forget to hand in your Camp Wishlist (aka. Application Form) by Thurs. Dec. 13th.

Thank you to those who attended Capt. Lewis' Mess Dinner. It was a successful & enjoyable evening. Great job Capt. Harrop and thank you for putting it all together!

CORRECTION:

An additional training night has been added on Dec. 20th for those cadets who are able to attend. Please note a specific number of training nights are required each year and therefore this change is necessary. All other activities (Band, Robotics etc.) will remain in "Stand Down" status as previously mentioned. (With Ground school still being the exception.) Sorry for any confusion. Please feel free to email should you have any questions.
Also...
The Christmas season is about giving! This year the cadets will have the opportunity to participate in the Christmas Kettle Campaign. We require cadets to cover five west end locations on Sat. Dec. 8th. Sign up will take place this Thursday so please speak with your cadet regarding their availability.
